Ombak Bagus Homestay is located in Dessa (village) Canggu, at about 4 km from Canggu surfing beach. This is the closest beach. At the end of our street you have a wonderfull view of Mount Batukaru, with terraced ricefields in front. Take an early morning walk, and you will be greeted by cows, chickens, pigs, dogs and a beautiful sunrise.

Ombak Bagus is a good starting point for exploring southern Bali. The driving distances  to some places of interest are:

• Canggu beach: 5 minutes
• Legian: 20 minutes
• Kuta: 30 minutes
• Tanah Lot temple: 20 minutes
• Airport: 45 minutes
• Denpasar: 30 minutes
• Sanur: 45 minutes
• Dreamland beach: 1 hour
• Ubud: 1 hour
• Nusa Dua: 45 minutes

We do advise you to have your own means of transport while staying at Ombak Bagus. As the location is not very central it is much cheaper to drive your own motorbike or car then to take a taxi. For the more adventurous guest, a motorbike gives the possibility to experience more details. Driving over the smaller roads of distant villages, you can experience daily life in Bali with all your senses. On the other hand, driving in a car can get you further, is more comfortable and makes it easier to tour around the island for several days, with your luggage. Hiring a car with driver gives you the freedom to enjoy your surroundings, while the driver takes care of the (sometimes hectic) traffic, and finding the way.

Please be carefull when driving because the police is watching you!! Don't forget to wear your helmet. You can be fined for 50 euro/USD if caught without a helmet. The police makes a lot of money fining tourists. Officially you have to have an international drivers license for motorbikes when driving one in Indonesia. You can also get a local temporary drivers license for Rp 300.000 for 3 months which is valid for the whole of Indonesia. For driving a car you cannot get a temporary local license (this is new), so don't forget your international license. Many tourists drive without a drivers license, but this is ofcourse your own responsibility.
