Located in the village of Canggu, Ombak Bagus Homestay is an ideal place for exploring the nearby surfspots of Tugu, Canggu, Brawa and Pererenan. Situated in a rural and quiet setting it offers a taste of everyday Balinese village life. You can reach several great surfspots within a 10 minutes drive. If you want to go shopping or clubbing, the busy tourist areas of Kuta and Legian are only a 20-30 minutes drive away. Also one of Bali's most photographed sites, the temple of Tanah Lot is close by, here you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. Your Hosts at Ombak Bagus Homestay & Tours are Joost and Marieke. After visiting Bali a couple of times for a holiday we decided to stay a little longer to enjoy the island of the Gods even more. Fortunately we got the chance to take over this homestay formerly runned by Ivo and Loekie Engels.
Before this new adventure started we lived in Holland and both had a job in media consultancy and marketing/sales. Joost is surfing for 17 years and the last two years he was one of the trainers of The Dutch Surfteam & Junior Dutch Surfteam. He surfed most surfspots of Bali and knows were to go to score the best surf. After finishing University Marieke travelled around the world and especially loved the countries of South East Asia due to the friendly people, interesting culture, tropical climate and last but not least the excellent food! We look forward to meeting you at "our" homestay, and help you enjoy Bali as much as we do!
